RadioAstron - is an international project, realization of which engaged scientists from 18 countries. The project objective is to obtain and analyze data on mechanisms of energy generation by space radio sources. A space radio telescope will be placed into a far-out orbit of an artificial satellite to get high-quality images of space radio sources. The project will employ the largest terrestrial radio telescopes in many countries. The project development is carried out in the Astro Space Center of P.N. Lebedev Physics Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (ASC LPI of RAS) involving radio-astronomy observatories in the USA, Canada, European countries, India, China, and Australia.
Telephone conferencing sessions for on-line discussions of scientific, technical and organizational issues of the Project are implemented on the basis of a Logic Line Multi service, developed by "MTU-Inform" company. The service scenario provides for a separate telephone number to be dedicated, access to which will be granted by means of a special PIN code. Only Project participants can access the telephone conferencing. They connect to the teleconference at the appointed time by dialing this number and entering a PIN code in tone dialing mode. The aggregate traffic volume during the first teleconference amounted to more than 1200 minutes.
"Regular communication of interested parties - is an essential condition for a successful coordinated work at implementation of projects of this level", says ASC LPI of RAS Director, Project Research Manager, academician, Mr. N.S. Kardashev. - "Teleconferences are old-established in a worldwide practice and we would not like to deprive our foreign colleagues of the level of service they are accustomed to when discussing topical tasks".
"We are glad to conduce to success of such a large-scale Project. Thanks to ample opportunities of an intellectual network today, we are able to realize any scenarios of telephone service depending on our partners' tasks. We hope our service package will meet all requirements of such a demanding audience", says MTU-Inform director general, Said Alimbekov. |
