20.06.2002 MTU-Inform offers telephone services to the Camelot residential project and connects Camelot to the Internet.

MTU-Inform reports the completion of the works on the connection of the Camelot residential project to its telephone network. The Camelot project, located on Komsomolsky Prospect #30-30A, was built by Augur Estate. Camelot was the 26th residential project that MTU-Inform equipped with telephone services.

Now the Camelot residents may enjoy digital telephone services and constant high-speed Internet access. An extended range of telephony services, including speed-dialing, call-forwarding, conference calls, call waiting, reminder services, etc. became possible after the installation of the most up-to-date NEC 100 telephone station with additional functional features. Implementation required allocation of 400 phone numbers from the MTU-Inform stock of phone numbers. MTU-Inform also managed installation of the fiber-optic line from the nearest company node to the Camelot site and installed a modern distributive network within the housing complex that used a twisted pair for signal transmission. This solution compensated for data transmission interference and increased connection speed through multi-user channels. To provide high-speed constant Internet access, the company used HomePNA technology, which allows speeds up to 10 Mbps.

"Today, an advanced telecommunication infrastructure is necessary for business class estates," says Dmitry Dronov, MTU-Inform marketing director. "When providing residential projects under construction with telephone services and Internet access, our company utilizes the newest telecommunication technologies and facilities, thus ensuring our leadership in these spheres of the market."

HomePNA technology makes it possible to set up local network using standard telephone wires already deployed in the building. The HomePNA standards were developed by Home Phoneline Networking Alliance. Access to the transmission media in HomePNA technology is designed according to IEEE 802.3 CSMA/CD (Ethernet). Since the signal bandwidth ranges from 5.5 to 9.5 MHz, signals do not interfere with telephone, fax, analog and ADSL modem signals transmitted via the same pair of wires. Data transmission rate is 1 Mbps (HPNA 1.0 Standard) or 10 Mbps (HPNA 2.0 Standard).
